The unspeakable beauty of our world

Sitting on the bowsprit, the jib muttering like a senile old man, the sea foaming at my heels…

I always sang, and the wind would steal my words, hurling them away across the waves. Words meant nothing. Words meant nothing and beauty meant everything to this ragamuffin child of the sea.

On my father’s boat I learnt to love the unspeakable beauty of our world…
